**** SPOILERS ****

Images in the Sand - Part I
Shadows and Symbols - Part II

In this first of a two-parter- after an assassination attempt on Sisko, he decides to search for the Prophets (who disappeared in the season finale). In the conclusion- Sisko finds something . . . interesting during his search for the Prophets. Ezri Dax is introduced in this episode. Ezri is a young Trill woman who doesn't want to be joined but she is only one there who can be joined when the Dax symbiont reacts badly to something coming from its damaged shuttle. Despite the fact that she really doesn't want to be joined she does anyhow to save the symbiont. She then (of course) ends up working on DS9 once she is joined. Since she underwent no training and didn't want to be joined- the joining process is kinda messed up and she ends up a complete nut. She is overwhelmed by Dax and the past hosts but at the same time, her will is so strong that she overwhelms it much of the time too. To make matters worse for Ezri, its seem that Worf is convinced that she is married to him, at least part of her (this scene is apparently VERY funny :-) She barely even likes him, when she is Ezri at least, but the Dax/Jadzia in her is still in love with him. This makes matters even WORSE for poor Ezri!
"She's had no training," [Ira Steven] Behr offers, "and she can't deal with all the personalities that are talking to her in her head at the same time. So suddenly, she's all these different people, yet not these people. She has all these memories and people's habits and things like that. On top of everything, she was an assistant ship's counselor, so it's the therapist who's more screwed up than the patients. This allows us to play the counselor in a much more creative way."

After Image
Garak first appears in this episode and interacts with Ezri Dax. Deals mostly with Ezri's relationships with Sisko and Worf.

Take Me Out to the Holo-Suite
Rom and Leeta are in this episode. An episode about Jake Sisko featuring, obviously, his love of baseball. He apperantly trys to teach Rom and Leeta the game.

Chrysalis
Features the return of the "Jack Pack", the genetically engineered "mutants" from Statistical Probabilities. Will show Jack as well as Serena coming out of her shell.

Dysfunctional
Ezri finally just can't cope with her joining to the Dax symbiont. She trys to escape this "horrible" fate by hiring an alien surgeon to remove Dax from her. Something goes wrong (but of course) and it results in the risk of losing both Ezri and Dax.

(*** Upcoming DS9 Episodes ***) **Spoilers**

"In the Pale Moonlight"
Written by Michael Taylor, with rewrites by Ron Moore.
A Sisko show, in which the Dominion War is featured front and center. When the Dominion overthrow Betazed, Sisko decides it's time to convince the Romulans to join the war effort, and enlists Garak to undertake covert operations to do so. However, the episode becomes very complicated and in the end, Sisko will find himself in deep personal conflict. Begins an increasing Romulan presence in the series.

"His Way"
Written by Rene Echevarria.
Set in a holographic Las Vegas and features Odo and Kira. Their relationship is further explored. According to Nana Visitor, the episode features a cameo of James Darren.

"The Reckoning"
Written by Bradley Thompson & David Weddle.
A Sisko show that sees the return of Kai Winn (Louise Fletcher) in which Bajoran faith is tested in the face of pure evil, a common theme this season. Also sees the return of the pah-wraiths which took over Keiko's body in "The Assignment". This time, they possess Jake while the Prophets possess Kira in the ultimate conflict between good and evil.

"Valiant"
Deals with a Defiant class vessel (The Valiant) with a rather unconventional crew. Jake and Nog are picked up from behind enemy lines by the Valiant.

"Profit and Lace"
A Quark episode. The Grand Nagus, Moogie, Brunt and Leeta return in this Ferengi show which will change the nature of Ferengi society as we know it.

"Out of Time"
Written by Rene Echevarria.
An O'Brien show in which Keiko and Molly return. Filming now.

"The Sound of Her Voice" (Season Finale)
Title still unconfirmed.
Will deal with the fate of Dax (since Terry Farrell will be leaving DS9 after this season).

Ira Steven Behr:
"At this stage in the game, when we have a season-and-a-half left of the show, I don't see the war totally ending until close to the end of the series. That doesn't mean every episode will be about the war. But the war will become a constant presence in the lives of our characters."

(*** Other DS9 News ***)

Nana Visitor (Kira) confirmed recently that Terry Farrell will be leaving DS9 after this season. However, this still have not been verified by Paramount.

The fate of Dax will be decided in the season finale. According to Farrell: "I have a feeling that they'll put the worm in someone else. Suddenly Worf is married to a woman he doesn't recognize."

10th March 1998

Terry (Dax) Farrell is to quit DS9, season 6 being her last season.

She told TV Guide:
"It's not about money. That sounds like I'm really ungrateful for the job, but it would be great to try something different."

Terry Farrell was on the Howard Stern show (Feb 23rd) and had just done a convention in NYC. She said the convention was a chance to say 'goodbye'. When asked what that meant, she said it was her 6th season on DS9 and that she hasn't signed a new contract. She also stated that she was headed to LA today to do interviews for a new job, it's the beginning of Pilot Season, when studios make pilot shows to sell to Networks for television here in the States. She said, and this is a paraphrase, "I need to look for a new job."

Michelle Walker at the Terry Farrell Fan Club confirmed that she hasn't signed for a 7th season - and said:
"She mentioned that she is fairly sure Dax is going to be killed off, as opposed to being sent to some remote base. She suggested that they send Dax away in case she ever did want to come back for a guest thing, but the writers told her that killing Dax off was more effective.
She was given an offer and told to 'take it or leave it' and she declined the offer."

Here are descriptions on the latest DS9 episodes

Waltz
While transporting Gul Dukat to stand trial for war crimes, Sisko's ship is attacked and destroyed, leaving Sisko and the mentally-deranged Dukat on a deserted planet.

Who Mourns for Morn?
Morn, having been caught in an Ion storm, is believed to be killed. However, he's not, he's just believed to be. Morn has left all of his belongings to Quark, and he won the Bolian lottery. 1000 Bars of Latinum. Odo is ticked at seeing that Quark has this, and they then go to see his prize. Odo and Quark go into Morn's quarters, and see nothing, except for a painting. Quark is so PO'd that he blows the painting through someone's head, and there's one strip of Latinum in the painting.
Quark turns it over and sees a number. He comes to the conclusion that the number is the account number that has all the money, and it is. He goes to claim his fortune, and is first ambushed by two people. Nahsk and Krit, who claim to be business assoicites Nahsk is a little on the stupid side. They demand some of the fortune, and Quark gives it to them. Then someone named Larell finds him, and asks him for some, claiming to be his ex-wife. Then a guy named Hain comes saying that it's really the royal family's money. Quark then holds a meeting with all of them, and they all hate each other.
We later find out that these 4, and Morn, raided a bank to get all the money, and Morn's been storing it. Quark then tells them to "pretend he's Morn," and split the money in five. Everyone thinks that all the others agree, and all but Quark plan to ambush each other and kill them, and take all the money. They almost succedd, with Quark right about to die when Odo shows up and saves the day. Quark gets the fortune but... uh... there's no latinum in it! Just plain, old gold.
Morn then comes back, and they find out that the latinum is stored in Morn's second stomach. They then start planning to sell all this regular gold to some unknowing civilization...

Far Beyond the Stars
When Sisko falls in to a coma, he dreams that he's a sci-fi writer in the 1950's writing about the adventures aboard Deep Space Nine. This is the episode where Marc Alaimo (Dukat), Jeffery Combs (Weyoun), Michael Dorn (Worf), Nana Visitor (Kira), Andrew Robinson (Garak) and Armin Shimerman (Quark) appear without make-up, and will apparently play characters in Sisko's coma close to the characters they play regularly. Brock Peters (Sisko's dad) and Penny Johnson (Kassidy Yates) also return.
The fact that the actors appear as humans was apparently a big secret that Marc Alaimo blew. Ron Moore says, "Marc has a big mouth".

Honor Among Theives
O'Brien going on an intelligence mission. He's infiltrating the Orion Syndicate, who have appearently teamed up with the Dominion. They plan to kill Gowron, and make it seem like other Klingons did it to stir up civil war. Meanwhile, O'Brien grows attached to "Bilby," the person who he's infiltrating the syndicate through. His boss for the mission, Chadwick, tells him that Bilby will probably die (by the hand of the syndicate), and O'Brien even feels worse because Bilby keeps saying how "family is the most important thing." And how he's always saving up to visit them. O'Brien spills the beans to Bilby, and tells him to get away, but he refuses because the syndicate would kill his family. Meanwhile on the station, life is hell for most of the people because none of the systems are working w/o O'Brien."

Change of Heart
Dax and Worf are going on a secret mission behind Cardie lines to get someone who wants to defect (not to mention that that guy has info on all the Founders in the Alpha Quadrent.) Worf and Dax go, and are ambushed by some Jem'Hadar.
They kill the Jem'Hadar, but Dax is seriously wounded. They mutually decide that Worf will go on, and pick up Jadzia's (dead) body, and Worf does that, but he realizes that it's wrong. So he goes back, without the defector, and picks up Jadzia (who stays alive). When they get back to the station, Sisko dresses Worf down, but then says that if he where Worf and Dax was Jennifer, he would have done the same thing. But Worf will probably never get a command thanks to that. And Quark has been on a stroll in Tongo, winning 208 consecutive games. O'Brien decides that he needs to beat Quark, but then decides that it would be better for Julian to, after all he's genetically engineered. But Julian loses to Quark.

Wrongs Darker Than Death or Night
A reportedly intense Kira story which features -- shall we say -- a rather unique chronological structure.

Patriots
Jake discovers that his father has not always played according to the rules in his efforts to defeat the Dominion.

Inquisition
Bashir becomes involved with a shadowy organization that may or may not manipulate the course of Federation history from behind the scenes.

Rumours are suggesting that Colm Meaney (Chief O'Brien) will be leaving Deep Space Nine during the sixth season. In the 6th episode "Sacrifice of Angels" O'Brien will be severly wounded and have to return to Earth for treatment and to recover. If this turns out to be true I'm sure that O'Brien will be missed by all DS9 fans, but I am sure that we all wish Colm well in his movie career.
