Odo is a shapeshifter of the changling race. The changlings are the Founders of the Dominion the main power in the Gamma Quadrant. Odo is Chief of security on DS9 and it always keeping a eye on Quark in hope that he will find out something he can incriminate him with. Odo got his name from the Bajoran word Odoitar meaning unknown sample.
